Karazin popup.description2 Research object — a drainage basin or watershed as the topographic area providing runoff to a selected point usually along a stream. It is an area that is delimited by a drainage divide and occupied by a network of channels that transport upstream drainage water and sediment to lower regions. Drainage basins are of various sizes, and form a nested hierarchy to selected points downstream. Basins drain to outlet points that lead to other drainage basins until the flow reaches the ocean or a closed basin. This chain of drainage basins is known as a drainage system. The primary function of the drainage basin in the water cycle is collecting and delivering runoff to rivers that flow to the ocean or sea. As a practical implementation of the methodology suggested the conceptual model of specific software is firstly introduced in this work in terms of its functionality, operational scope, and basics for users. Generalized regional examples of using and testing this software will conclude the examination of thi s package. Small experimental watersheds - the Black River basin (Western Crimea, Ukraine) and a part of the Dnepr watershed area will be compared on the following stages, so that to demonstrate how to put together some of the software "what-if" processing tools for applications in real drainage basins. This testing proves that MapFlow meets all requirements for the evolution into a real Decision Support System for policy making. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
