The subject of investigation is to be: 1) the historical preconditions, which established the source as a privat codification of law norms of Lithuanian Statute and German law remained in a force in Ukraine; 2) the connection of source with the previous unsuccessful codification; 3) the structural analysis of the source which is substantially consisting in civil and procedural law; 4) its connection with political process at that time and its impact upon legal reform of 1864.
