The regularities of morphological differentiation in the polyspecies complexes of mammals were explored, and the role of the age variability in the intraspecific differentiation was clarified. Ecological and morphological groups reflecting the structure of the genus were distinguished according to the cranial proportions and morphogenetic peculiarities of the skull in the voles of the gen. Microtus. Connection between the fenotypic diversity of cranial indices of social voles and the phase of their population dynamics was revealed. Epizootic and epidemic significance of the micromammalian community structure in the steppe zone was ascertained. Recommendations on the conservation of reptile fauna richness were worked out. Structural diversity of the insect fauna of the Festuceto-Steppetum assotiations was studied, and the model organisms were suggested for the bioindication. The degree of poll ution by chlorine and mercury in the biota of water and terrestrial ecosystems in 6 natural reservations was defined. The evolutionary significance of the genetic diversity in the certain species populations of vertebrates was determined.
