The lower activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase as well as higher glutathione reductase activity in transformed cells as compared with normal cells were observed. It was found that NIH3T3 cells were less resistant to oxidative stress caused by increasing hydrogen peroxide concentrations. Obtained data are in agreement with changes in intracellular level of malondialdehide in combination with 4-hydroxyalkenals (4-HNE), which has been used as an indicator of lipid peroxidation.
