The advantages of the new technology are as follows: the cost of manufacture is reduced; metal utilization factor is 4-6 times increased; design opportunities of using optimum sections of sheet and stiffeners are widened; it is possible to fabricate structures from aluminium alloys, which are different in mechanical properties and cost, that will decrease greatly the total weight of the structure and cost of its manufacture.
