Analysis of the existing principal outline solutions of such self-rescuers made by the leading firms of the world such as "Drager Safety AG&Co. KGaA" (Germany), "MSA" (USA), "Fenzy" (France), "Tambov Scientific-Research Chemical Institute" (Tambov NICHI) (Russia) and China is carried out. On the grounds of these investigations the principal scheme of the new breathing apparatus is developed. The basis of it are the technical solution covered with the Ukrainian patent No.27389 and the desigh of the regenerative cartridge for which an application for an invention No.99073854 from 07.07.1999 is filed with the Ukrpatent. The design solutions developed allowed to fulfil the task and to unify as much as possible the new self-rescuer with the ШСС-1 self-rescuer produced serially. T he experimental batch of the self-rescuers has passed the official acceptance tests, the design plans and specification are corrected to produce the adjusting series.
