As a result of the research, which was carried out, the materials of the archives of regional trauma hospital and the regional medical social commission of experts were investigated. This gave an opportunity to define the semiology of combined injuries of pelvic bones and femur. On the basis of findings the point scale of the trauma heaviness of combined injuries of pelvic bones and femur is worked out. And in accordance with the criterion of the heaviness prognosis of the general state of injured the rendering assistance algorithm to injured with combined injuries of pelvic bones and femur is elaborated. On the basis of experience of the treatment of severe trauma of pelvis using the external fixation devices the external fixation apparatus for the treatment of pelvic bone and acetabulum fractures combined with femur fractures - apparatus "pelvis-femur" is designed and practically applied. Technically the apparatus is two static-dynamical modules: "pe lvic" and "femoral". It allows to make reposition, fixation of pelvic bones, acetabulum and femoral bones injuries. The rigid fixation and possibility of redistribution of load through the construction of the apparatus passing an injured joint and fracture zone of femoral bone allows to activate the patient in 2-3 days after operation treatment if there are no contraindications. Clinical use of the external fixation devices for osteosynthesis of combined fractures of pelvic bone and femur allowed to work out the absolute and relative indications for their application and also to specify contraindications to it. The use of designed device and the external fixation osteosynthesis technology allowed to decrease mortality on 14 %; to achieve good and excellent anatomic-functional outcomes in 86,71 % of observations, to reduce average duration of confinement to bed to 8±0,5 days and of in-hospital treatment to 41,8±3 days (i.e. by half), it allowed to decrease physical disability in 1st group - on 7,28 %, 2n d - on 13,81 %, 3d - on 18,5%. The basic theses of the scientific work were reported on 13 congress of the orthopedists of Ukraine and conferences in 1999-2001, at sessions of the scientific society of traumatologists, at the scientific - practical school- seminar " Actual problems of clinic and treatment of pelvic injuries" (Donetsk - Slavyanogorsk, 2000); the exponential operations were carried out; the patent of Ukraine was obtained, 15 scientific works were published, one doctoral dissertation was defended.
