Objectives: to evaluate the cytogenetic criteria informativity for radiation effects assessment in cancer patients at different steps of partial-body fractionated therapeutical exposure. Меthods cytogenetic analysis of peripheral blood lymphocyte cultures, common statistics, light microscopes Biolam I, MBI-6. Results: The main trends of cytogenetic indices dynamics and upper limits of their changes have been studied in a representative cohort of patients undergoing radiation therapy due to mammal, ovarian and cervical cancers. Patients' chromosome damage yield measured before treatment have been found to be increased above control level because of higher frequencies of exchanges and aneuploids with no dependence on tumor localization. The general radiation-specific effect of therapeutical exposure in cancer patients have been displayed as an increasing of chromosome type aberra tion yield accompanied by significant overdispersion of aberration-in-cell distribution, that was assumed to be the direct consequence of partial body irradiation. The quantitative difference for chromosome aberration level increasing rate has been shown in patients during distant gamma-therapy of mammal and gynecological cancers, intracavital and combined gamma-therapy of cervical cancers. Some accumulation of chromatide breaks and aneuploids have been assumed to be manifestation of non-specific genetic instability in patients' lymphocytes and lymphocyte precursors. The informativity of different cytogenetic indices as criteria for radiation-induced genomic damage estimation in cancer patient undergoing fractionated partial body therapeutical irradiation was evaluated. Fields of application: radiobiology, radiation medicine, oncology, radiation therapy. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
