Research aim - the study on of gamma-irradiation affect on structural changes in minerals in order to estimate their radiating stability in radiating fields generating by long-live radioactive wastes. Research method - the analysis of accumulation of radiation-induced paramagnetic defects, radiation-chemical iron oxidation and structural changes in minerals under action of ionizing radiation by spectroscopy methods (EPR, PMR, NGR, IR-spectroscopy). It has been established, that the remarkable structural-chemical changes in unsilicate minerals do not occur in the doze interval below 1 МGy, the appreciable radiolysis of minerals begins at dozes above 100 МGy. It has been shown, that electron-hole centers, paramagnetic ions of different valence (Fe2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, Mn3+) and structural OH- groups are the radiation-induced defects dictating radiating stability of minerals. It has been found, that the presence of hydroxyl-containing and sulphuric minerals with Fe2+ in a rock holds down essentially radiation stability of the rock; the time estimations of stability of different minerals during their contact with RAW have been made. The research results can be used in geology, radiation mineralogy, radiation material-knowing. The prognosis assumption on the research object development - the search of optimum massifs in order to RAW dumping. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
