The differences in the (quantity and quality) composition of phytoviruses at the contaminated areas of Chernobyl power station may be explained both by the reduction of immune reactions of plants that are growing under radioactive pollution and by the higher virulence of viruses. Because the antropogenic pressure to environment tend to grove (not to decline) in future and new crops (including genetically modified) will enter agrocenoses, a problem of ecological balance in them will become more important in future as well as more acute become an issue of prevalence and harmfulness of phytoviruses.
