The aim of the work is to investigate the peculiar features and general tendencies national -cultural process. Investigators used methods of induction, analisis, syntesis, comparison, germeneutical, phenomenological and synergetical methods. The period of the first National Cultural Revival (XV - I quater of XVII) Investigation cleared the character and defined the time of Ukrainian Enlightment and shuw that it not the same as Europian. The investigation Ukrainian culture of XIX cen. appears in a new light. Its main ideas are organic combining of the development of culture with the stages of second National Cultural Revival. Dealing with the problems of Ukrainian Modernism, special attention was paid to styles and genres, forbidden in Soviet times. The main peculiarities of Post-modernismwere defined. All the materials collected while worcing on the theme are being used in delivering lectures in the course "Science of Culture", in scientific publication. They are also used for publishing new cultural dictionary and the second edition of new text-book "Lectures from History of World and National Culrure".
