General theory of diffraction on periodical structures for TE and TM polarisations was developed. Properties of double- and multilayer holograms were studied by coupled waves method. Multilayer holograms have unique properties that give a possibility to use them in semiconductor-laser frequency stabilisation systems, spectral devices, laser technology and as a high sensative sensor of rotation angle.
