Object - adult and old Wistar rats. Methods - physiological. It was ascertained that constrictor activity of vessels is increased and reactive ability of smooth muscle cells is decreased in aging. It was shown that the vasodilating effect of the HR is diminished in the old rats compared to the adult. Under the application of the L-arginine in commomn with the HR vasodilating reactions to the HR action is increased significantly. Thus, HR vasodilating effect partial is linked with endothelium-dependent mechanism. To summarize, the combined of the HR with the L-arginine may be using for treatment of the hypertensive disease.
