The examination of general problems of modern transformation is supplemented with studying of concrete changes of humanitarian, economical, political, social spheres of society. In the first chapter is studying the theoretical meaning of consept 'political modernization' and different approaches to it. In the second chapter set forth the history of origin and development of geopolitics, is describing views of the most important schools; is defining geopolitical situation of Ukraine. In the third chapter is analizing the cooperation of Ukraine with the other countries of the region. In the fourth chapter is describing the general political and economical development of the region under globalization.
