A substantial part and terminological base of the Dictionary are based on legislative in Ukraine legislative and normative base on education. In a part of educational institutions, which carried out activity till 1990, this Dictionary is based on materials of the appropriate Dictionary, which was issued for realization of the population census in former Soviet Union in 1989. The systematized dictionary contains the names of educational institutions of Ukraine, which now give out the documents of a state sample at reception of education on the established levels, and also names of educational institutions of Ukraine, which in the given time give out the documents of a state sample at reception of formation(education) on the established levels, and also names of educational institutions of other countries, where the citizens of Ukraine received education till 1990. As for last it is expedient to be based on materials of the similar dictionaries of previous census. The novelty of the Dictionary consists in distribution of educational institutions on sections of education on groups and types. So, section "high education" contains three groups: high-school institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation, high-school institutions of ІІ level of accreditation, high-school institutions of І level of accreditation. Accordingly in the first group the universities, academies, institutes, conservatories, high courses schools and so on are allocated. In second colleges and other educational institutions, which are accredited on to ІІ level, are represented. In third technical schools, pedagogical and medical schools, and also educational institutions, which are accredited on this level, are submitted. Under the same circuit other educational institutions are opened. The section of vocational training is designated only by typology of the basic educational institutions, which give qualification "qualified worker". As the qualified workers are considered working on the working categories above third.
