Goal of investigations: Determination of minerological-petrographic and geochemical peculiarities of new finds of kimberlites and lamproites in the Ukrainian shield; Determination of genetic types of garnets and their primary sources; Determination of morfogenetic peculiarities of garnets; Assessment of formation conditions of garnets; Prospecting of primary and placer occurrences of diamonds. Methods of investigations: Minerological and petrografic methods, microprobe analyses of minerals, optical spectroscopy and colorimetry of minerals, scanning electron microscopy of minerals. Results of petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical investigations of kimberlites from Kirovograd region have been presented. These rocks belong to dynites of hypabyssal facies. They are very similar to micaceous kimberlites and phlogopite-olivine bearing lamproites from other regions of World. They also contain a lot of abyssal xenoliths. Mineralogical-petrographic character of Proterozoic K-ultrabasites from Western Pryazovya has been presented. These rocks are similar to Aldan type lamproites. Paragenetic associations of garnets from kimberlites of Eastern Pryazovya show evidence about formation of kimberlitic magma near boundary of diamond - and graphite abyssal facies. Therefore Pryazovian kimberlites belong to nondiamond - bearing or very weak diamond-bearing rocks. Nonkimberlitic rocks are primary sources of garnets from sedimentary rocks of Prykarpattya and Prydnistrovya (basin of Dnister river). They are very similar to abyssal layered intrusions of Czech massif. The areas in Ukraine, occupied by Volyn' block, should be referred to the most perspective region of diamondiferous kimberlites deposits. Pyropes from sedimentary rocks of the Berdychiv block have relative fresh surface of grains and various sources. Their morphological evolution also was different. Key words: kimberlites, lamproites, abyssal xenoliths, diamond indicator minerals, garnets, morphogenesis. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
