Aim of the work is to develope and realize an approach toward AlB12 synthesis in the shape of elongated whiskers. Investigations were carried out by means of methods such as chemical, XRD, crystal - optical, electron microscopy and IR spectroscopy. Results: the posibility to form nanostructured boride phases of aluminium from simple substances was justified. Highly dispersed AlB12 powders with nanodispersed whiskers on the surface of their particles were synthsized. Some properties of elongated AlB12 whiskers were studied.
