The system Li2CO3:Gd2O3:B2O3 shows the tendency to the formation of borates which lead to violation of the stoichiometry both of the melt and Li6Gd(BO3)3 crystals in the growth process. The obtained results were used as a base for the development of technological criteria for the synthesis of monophase raw material of stoichiometric composition with Li6Gd(BO3)3 content running into 98 mass.%.
