The aim of the work is thorough research of the whole complex of the heritage of the multi-national population of the peninsula using new materials of ethnographic and archeological research in Crimea. The problems of adaptation and integration of new ethnoses and the formation of the united socium on different and polyconfessional basis is of great importance in the works of the scholars of the Scientific Problem Research Laboratory. The problem of scientific research is the study of key moments of the historic development of the region, demonstrating ethnos-cultural processes of late ancient and medieval Crimea. The problems of small peoples of the peninsula (the Karaimes and Krymchaks), their religious and ethnic association, the ways of the formation of early medieval cultures under the influence of Christian tradition, spiritual and material culture affecting ethnos-cultural processes in Ukraine. Migration and assimilation processes as well as centuries-old inter-ethnic and inter-confessional harmony of the population of Crimea were investigated. On the basis of the obtained data one monograph, two textbooks for educational establishments, forty-one articles, two Candidate theses and Doctor thesis are prepared.
