The aim of the project is to develop theoretical models of non-magnetized and magnetized plasmas sources with cylindrical and planar configurations that can operate under the conditions of low gas pressure. Меthоds of the investigation are theoretical analysis and numerical computation. During the reported time theoretical models of the sources of non-magnetized and magnetized plasma that are operating under the conditions of high and low gas pressures have been developed by the aid of numerical and analytical methods of solving the Maxwell's equations, equations of moments, kinetic equation of Vlasov-Boltzmann and power balance equation. Spatial distribution of the surface wave fields and plasma density that is sustained by the aid of excitation and propagation of eigen surface waves in discharge chambers under the indicated above conditions for the mentioned geometrical peculiarities of the chambers construction. It is found that one can elaborate effective plasma sources that apply propagation of the surface waves for sustaining gas discharges under the regime of low operating gas pressure.
