V., Registration Date 11-04-2003 Organization Kharkov National University named after V.N.Karazin popup.description2 The changes of prooxidant- antioxidant homeostasis under the action of factors influencing the aging rate were studied on the rats,guinea-pigs and drosophilas of different age.It was established that in the experimental animals during the natural aging , at the modelling of accelerated aging by the long-term administration of thyroxine and at the modelling of delayed aging by the use of calorie-restricted diet and long-term administration of Rhodiola rosea extract the changes of prooxidant-antioxidant homeostasis were conditioned in the main by the changes of enzymatic GSH-dependent antioxidant system activity.On the base of analysis of the obtained results there was proposed the optimum strategy for correcton of age-dependent changes of antioxidant system with the purpose of increase of life -span and delay of beginnings and development of age-dependent pathologies.
