The results obtained provide a basis for developing methods to estimate the vibration state of the studied systems and carry out vibration diagnostics of their damages. Models and methods to calculate vibrations of rod and plate-shaped elements with opening mode cracks are considered and the results of numerical, analytical and experimental investigations of their free and forced vibrations were presented. The relations between the vibration characteristics of the elastic elements under study and their damage parameters under conditions of free and different resonant vibrations considering the type of energy dissipation were obtained. The test data on the effect of discontinuities of combined laminated coating on damping of flexural vibrations of prismatic specimens are given. The results of experimental investigation into the effect of fatigue damage of individual elements of the same type on the formation of natural and rezonant vibrations of a regular system are outlined. The results of studying the effect of the type of connection between the elements of the same type on the excitation of vibrations of systems with cyclic symmetry violation and the possibilities of enhancing their dynamic stability against flutter by introducing deliberate mistuning of the element frequencies were presented.
