It is shown that achievable ion source brightness permits MeV ion beams with beam spot size approaching to 0.3 µm to be produced. Further improvements in the resolution of nuclear microprobes depend on the further improvements in the accelerator ion source brightness. Two analytical end stations for the IAP NASU accelerator-based analytical system have been constructed and tested: for NRA and RBS analyses. New experimental data on radiative strength functions for the 1f-nuclear shell were obtained, as well as depth profiles of implanted Ti.
