Based on the theory the systems which include an exchange of one and two charged ions on carboxylic cation-exchangers have been analysed. The method of a-priori calculation of the main characteristics of a new method of water treatment has been developed. It allows to predict the efficiency of the use of any technological scheme depending on quality of initial water and the need in desalted and softened water. A few variants of the technological schemes intended for combined production of desalted and softened water were developed. Area of application: the low-wasted resource saving technology of the combined manufacture of softened and desalted water can be used in different branches of economy, in particular, at heat and atomic power engineering.
