A wide specter of modern Ukraine inhabitants identification models has been analyzed. Two polar types of identities - Western and Eastern - might be found in this specter. We discovered that the majority of Ukraine's population doesn't belong to any of polar types of identities. Instead of this strongly developed dualism presents in the hierarchies of identities and loyalties of people. Between two polar identities there are large fields of similarity (fields of compromise). First of all they are based on loyalty to Ukrainian state, on the vision of its future as political unity etc. The tendency to new Ukrainian political/ civic identity formation among inhabitants of all historical regions of Ukraine is discovered.
