The engine parameters were recorded with standard devices and instruments. A mathematical model of the pistons has been developed to determine the thermomechanical stress and strain in the modified piston. The piston's weight has been decreased and its profile improved, allowing to predict a design service life increase by 25 to 30%. The piston are intendend for automotive transport engines.
