A newly developed topological approach to solving the task of estimating reliability and safety of power technological systems is described based on using typical graphological images and elements of structural-logic schemes. Application of the developed method is demonstrated for solving the operational task by example of the VVER-1000 nuclear power unit. The design results can be used in power engineering, the chemical and other branches of industry when solving different problems involving reliability and safety of their facilities.
