Med. Sci Ukraine popup.description2 In the patients with a hypertensive disease, owing to the fasting therapy there occurred a significant fall in the values of systolic and diastolic pressure, this happening against a background of the body weight decrease. For the hypertensive patients with a concomitant obesity, an essential rule for BP maintenance within the desired range or, at least, at a level of no more than 140/90 mm Hg is to retain the achieved body weight loss. Repeated fasting therapy courses (with a 6-month interval) help maintain the body weight at a level when no increase of the BP occurs and, even if it does take place, it gains a level which requires a minimal drug correction (75% of patients with hypertensive disease reduced 2-3-fold the intake of antihypertensive drugs, while 23% of patients refused receiving the antihypertensive drugs). Long-term studies have shown that the hypotensive effect of fasting therapy is maintained for a prolonged time period (up to 3 months) and depends on future patient's nutritional attitudes and life style. No significant age-dependent differences relative to clinical and antihypertensive effects of fasting therapy have been found. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
