The objective of the research is to formulate theoretical principles of wear-resistant material development with the optimum physical and mechanical properties. Increase of effectiveness of material hardening. The anvil material was investigated using a metallographic, spectrographic and mechanical method. Reproduction of real conditions of the anvils operation was held on a special shock table. We have established the dependencies of the structure and the properties of the anvil material on the quantity of the shock loading. We have investigated the influence of external factors and those of the science of materials on the wear qualities of alloys. We have developed an electroslag technology of parts manufacture with higher operational life under varies service conditions, in particular, in shock systems of electric filters, of parts of the extractive and processing industry, and machine building. Results of the research can be used in machine building while choosing the material of machine parts and equipment assigned to receive and transmit shock impulse loads.
