Purpose: to create a system of collection, processing, and storage of information relative to diabetes mellitus. Methods: statistical, epidemiological methods. Results: it has been developed and introduced a formalized card SINADIAB, a complex of software for establishing registers at district, regional, and central levels. Regional computer registers have been established in all regions of Ukraine, as well as a State Register of patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus that comprises data on 122000 patients, as well as a Register of children with diabetes mellitus. Novelty: for the first time in Ukraine a Register of diabetes patients has been established. Efficacy of the innovation: The Register enables to analyze the quality of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diabetes mellitus. Field of application: endocrinology.
