It was shown that A2I melting is a 3->1 transition (A2I->A+I+I). The linear density of charges on the surface of single-stranded poly I was calculated. Mg(2+) and Ni(2+) effects on conformational transitions in synthetic polynucleotides poly (dA)-poly (dT) and poly (dA)-2 poly (dT) were investigated.
