Vertebral canal stenosis was typical for the claudicatory intermittent lameness exposed by roentgenography and C.T.,most frequently provoked by the back protrusions of the discs, arcual processus joint arthroses,bodies of vertebrae exostoses,yellow ligaments intumescence, congenital narrow canal. Typical symptoms for the vertebral canal stenoses were arcual processus joint arthrosis,discs hernia, marginal bodies of vertebrae exostoses,dislocation of vertebrae exposed by C.T.- examining. Worked out C.T.-metric index - dural sac squeezing coefficient allows to diagnose the stenosis, localize the level of the maximum narrowing of the vertebral canal independently of the factors provoking stenosis and anatomic variants of the vertebralcanal sizes and its contents. Worked out C.T.-metric method of canals of cerebrospinal roots allows to localize the level of stenosis and determine the surgery treatment tactics. An algorithm has been worked out for the patients complex examination suspected to be ill with stenosis of the vertebra canal and lumbar roots canals of the vertebra canal.
