Investigations of the REE sulfofluorides have proved that they are prospective materials as a low-energy diffraction optical coatings within IR region. The influence of the boron oxygene skeleton on the electronic structure and optical properties of series of borates of alkaline earth metals (AEM) has been studied. The charge compensation mechanism of Ln(III) has been determined. Perspectives of the practical application of materials with the content M2B5O9X:Ce(III) in both luminescence digital radiography and law-energy electrons dosimetry have been analyzed. Methods for the analysis of sulfides, fluorides and sulfofluorides REE as well as methods for the redoximetric determination of Eu(II) have been developed. It has been shown that diffusion reflection spectra are perspective for the qualitative detemination of definite lanthanides in their mixtures as well as for the identification of different inorganic compounds of these elements.
