The sequence and procedures of measurement of biophysical and physiological indices of marine and freshwater fish sperm were described. Thanks to these facts it would be possible to improve efficiency of use of cryobiological methods in fishery and nature conservation measures. The sperm concentration in ejaculate, sperm ability to reactivation and swelling during movement were determined to play the leading role during the cryopreservation method selection. The possibility of use of sperm plasma of fishes with unusually high level of sperm cryostability is substantiated to be the main part of effective cryoprotective medium for sperm of other fish species.
