The materials of analysis of 940 zooplankton samples taken on 254 stations covering all the Mediterranean Sea, more than 1013 phytoplankton samples taken on 419 stations and 340 ichthyo samples from the Atlantic Ocean were prepared. Moreover, taxonomic analysis of about 40 samples of the R/V "Professor Kolesnikov" cruise 17 and revision of more than 50 samples of the R/V "Mikhail Lomonosov" cruise 30 was finished. The materials of analysis of all samples mentioned above have been transferred to computer format. The format of presentation of data was discussed and agreed during the meeting of the Project participants in Baku, February 8-9, 2002. Following parameters are presented in the database: name of research vessel, number of cruise, date (year, month, day), longitude and latitude of station, depth (meters), time of sampling, mesh size (mirometers), sampled layer, volume of filtered water (cubic meters), species names, sex or stage (for copepods), size (milimeters), number of individuals in cubic meter, weight of individuals (miligrams) and biomass of individauls in cubic meter. Also, as full as possible information on the taxonomic membership of species is available. All data were organized by type and area.
