Objectives – to study pollution of natural ecosystems on the territory of Ukrainian Carpathians by heavy metals; to assess the levels of heavy metals depositions from the atmospheric air; to investigate concentration and temporary dynamics of ozone levels in urban environment and to estimate its potential toxicity for plants and human health. The deposition of heavy metals from atmospheric air has been investigated with utilization of mosses as bioindicators on the territory of Ukrainian Carpathians. The colorful maps reflecting intensity of pollution of investigated territories were created. The results obtained were included in atlas of Europe atmospheric pollution by heavy metals. The monitoring investigations on tropospheric ground-level ozone in urbane conditions (Kyiv city, NBG NASU) and in ecosystems of mountain forests of Ukrainian Carpathians were conducted.
