It is concluded that Raman spectroscopy is one of the most universal tools for the study of confinement effects. The methods of quantitative description of low frequency part of Raman scattering from amorphous solids are considered. Main algorithms of modeling of the spectra are presented, and subroutines employing these algorithms in terms of MLAB codes are elaborated. Computer control of Raman measurements of samples of nanoporous glasses containing confined model glass formers is performed. Parameters describing picosecond dynamics of the model glass former, salol, confined to nanopores are determined. It is found that the vibrational parameters of "inner" OH-groups of the salol molecule are changing: both frequency modulation and vibrational relaxation become slower. This signifies the changes in collision dynamics of the internal hydrogen atoms arising dueto decoupling of salol molecules in nanopores. Based on the study of the dependence of dynamics parameters on the nanopore radii, sample screening is preformed and recommendations regarding the direction of further studies are created.
