After the trauma the intracerebroventricular infusion of cationic liposomes contained the plasmid vector with human APOE2 or APOE3 genes was carried out. The effectiveness of transfection was confirmed by RT-PCR. The synthesis of apolipoprotein E in brain cells promoted the regress of trauma-induced structural changes, enhanced the viability of neurons, specifically in hippocampus.
