The aim of the research is the creation of a set of toponymical maps (1:2500000 scale) for the National Atlas of Ukraine which is not available at the moment. Some models of the maps of 1:2500000 scale have been designed whith the help of special software. These maps can be added to the main maps of the National Atlas of Ukraine, specifically to its section: "Historical and Cultural Heritage". The software can be also used for manufacturing wall maps. Database for 25 administrative regions of Ukraine have been collected. All the toponyms are characterized according to 24 features meeting the nomination principle and the positions of the objects. The toponyms have been derived from more than too scien-tific sources (both the verbal and graphical).
