Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 Analysis of apoptosis induction upon exposure to quercetin in primary cell cultures of peripheral blood mononuclear cells of patients with various chronic lymphoproliferative processes has shown the wide range of susceptibility to such a natural inducer. The novel transplantable cell line Uk-02 of human follicular lymphoma has been set up. The Uk-02 cells express the set of immunophenotypic markers characteristic of the lymphoma originating from the germinal centers of the follicles. Meanwhile, the cells are lacking t(14;18) chromosomal translocation. The caspase-3 activation has been assessed in MT-4 cells by flow cytometry using C92-605 monoclonals against active form of caspase-3. Upon short-term exposure to the apoptosis inducer the active form of caspase-3 is evident in cells being in G1 and S phases of the cycle, while the long-term exposure involves the G2/M cells into the process of caspase-3 activation.
