Study objective: elaboration of prophylactic tools complex for iodine deficiency correction directed on thyroid morbidity decrease in studied children. Study methods: clinical check-up, thyroid ultrasound scan, TSH and FT4 serum assay, iodine assay in urine. Iodine-containing preparations and BAA Iodine-forte, Iodide, "Phytosorbin Planet 1" were applied for iodine deficiency correction. Results and their novelty. Squira region was estimated as having environmental iodine deficiency. Lack of iodine was revealed in some villages there in 82.9-70.0-97.0% of children and adolescents. Thyroid pathology was diagnosed in 584 (14.5%) of persons with diffuse goiter predominance (61.5%). According to study results the application of Iodine-forte, Iodide, and "Phytosorbin Planet 1" provided improve of iodine supplementation, as iodine content in urine increased (41.2 vs. 74.3 ?g/L, median values) along with thyroid volume restriction in real average for 3.6 cm3 and for 25.4% in relative quota. Iodinated salt application in daily use improved iodine supplementation and enhanced efficiency of iodine preparations and BAA. Thyroid volume normalizing with iodine metabolism improve under iodine-content preparations and BAA application indicates that lack of iodine is one among other actual issues in etiology and pathogenesis of thyroid pathology in children and adolescents exposed to ionizing radiation against the environmental iodine deficiency. Iodine-forte, Iodide, and "Phytosorbin Planet 1" preparations and BAA administration along with iodinated salt routine daily use was proved being effective in children and adolescents having diffuse non-toxic goiter and residing in areas with radioactive contamination and environmental iodine deficiency meaning iodine deficiency correction and thyroid pathology prophylaxis.
