They allow to form intensive directed current of electrons, ions and quick atoms. These currents are used for technological purposes. The management of electron current (0 - 20 A) is made by changing burning pressure of high-voltage glow discharge (1-30 kV) and (or) by changing gas pressure in SEL HVGD (0,1 - 1 Pa).
