Theoretical fundamentals of moment characteristics control of electric machines are developed including general mathematical model of control means, nonlinear and linear models for starting moment converters, rotor inertia moment and dynamic moment converters. The adequateness of these models (the model errors are not higher than 10%) and the necessity of usage of linear models instead of complicated nonlinear ones for the automatic control means analysis is proved.
