The surface hardness and roughness of coatings has been measured; X-ray structural analysis of coatings has been carried out on an X-ray diffractometer; and durability tests of cutting tools employing the coatings developed have been carried out. The physical-engineering principles of obtaining effective coatings for friction assembly parts have been formulated, and the areas of efficient application of coatings have been identified.
