Aim of the work: pharmacological study and implementation of the domestically produced antiandrogen remedy “Flutafarm”; experimental justification for improvement of prostate cancer endocrine therapy efficacy due to development both of usage regimens of hormonal and antihormonal preparations and lowering of their dosage. Methods and apparatus: physiological, biochemical, morphological; light microscope, spectrophotometer, b-spectrometer, low temperature refrigerator, computer. The results and their novelty: It was found that domestically produced “Flutafarm” tablets do not yield to foreign analogs in the specific activity. There were experimentally grounded and proposed for clinical use the new treatment designs for the prostate cancer therapy suggesting the usage of lowered (subtherapeutic) doses of antiandrogen, estrogen microdoses, 5a-reductase inhibitor in long-term application. The potentiating effect of short-term combined use of flutamide in thereduced doses and estrogen microdoses as well as synestrol microdoses and finasteride was found. The advisability of such preparations use to obtain the optimal antiprostatic effect at the earliest possible date has been justified. The combined use of 5a-reductase inhibitor (finasteride) and estrogens for prostate cancer therapy was proposed for the first time. Degree of implementation: 1 patent, 2 Informational letters, Methodological recommendations, scientific articles and reports. Field of application: endocrinology, oncourology.
