To study the level of iodine provision of the population in order to develop recommendations aimed at prevention of iodine-dependent diseases. Methods: biochemical, epidemiological, clinical, statistical methods. Results: prevalence of thyroid diseases associated with iodine deficiency has been analyzed; the level of iodine provision in regions of Ukraine, consumption by the population of iodine preparations and food, containing iodine, iodinated salt have been studied. The negative impact of iodine deficiency on pregnancy course and intellectual development of children has been shown.
