The contact welding method is used to obtain the root weld, and the arc welding with FCW is applied to make the finishing pass, the later allows to carry out thermal treatment of the preceding layer and to raise the productivity of the process in total. Welding equipment power and design requirements were determined. The influence of welding conditions, shape and dimensions of the pipe groove on technological quality of welded joint was studied.
