Objective-analysis of the former USSR documents for establishing the necessity of work performance on reviewing given documents. "Methodology of the Former USSR Documents Analysis in the Sphere of Nuclear and Radiation Safety" (further-the Metodology) was developed and agreed with Standard Regulation Department of SNRCU during the work performance. In accordance with the Methodology the documents analysis was performed and correspondent anlytical references for each document separately were prepared. All given documents were classified in three lists, namely: "Regulatory Documents belonging Directly to Regulatory Body Competence"; "Regulatory Documents ofBranch Level (standards)'; 'Other Regulatory Documents having MixedCharacter'. Thus, all considered documents, mostly, did not lose actuality of requirements contained; it is impossible to include these documents into existing system of nuclear and radiation safety standard regulation without deviation from principles of hierarchical structure construction; the use of system approach methodology will allow the efforts concentration on the first priority tasks, develop scientifically substantiated strategy of improvement of nuclear and radiation safety standard regulation system. It was recommended to consider documents in thesequence determined in the Law of Ukraine 'On Authorising Activity in the Sphere of Nuclear Energy Use' and also include the analyzed documents into perspective SNRCU's Program of Standard and Legal Acts Development on Nuclear and Radiation Safety beginning from 2006, perspective and annual plans of standard regulation.
