The method is aimed to image subvertical seismic boundaries. The method was used in the conditions of salt-dome tectonics in the Dnieper-Donets depression. In the Bogatoiska area, after analysis of seismic attributes of images, a prospective carbonate body was delineated which adjoins the Pivdennopereshchepinskiy stock. Identified and tracked are subtle faults caused by salt intrusion. In the Zakhidnovilshanska area, the geological structure of the western part of the Starosanzharskiy stock was specified. A new well, 5, is proposed. Within the western part of the Starosanzharskiy stock, a prospective area was mapped with the horizontal extension of a salt cap peak more than 500 m. Some new procedures of hybrid Kirchoff migration operator were investigated. They are computed using finite-difference solutions of the vector wave equation. These kinds of migration take advantages of both Kirchoff and finite-difference migrations. Theory, algorithms, and computer programs were developed to solve the 3D eikonal equation for a transversal isotropic medium with a tilted symmetry axis and a nonelliptic anisotropy indicatrice. Some methods for building velocity models in pre-stock zones were investigated. They are based on using VSP, seismic and log data. The impact of various migration procedures on the accuracy of mapping pre-stock deposits were studied in the Vesnyanska area. The potentialities of AVO-analysis for prospecting methane of coal beds were evaluated in the conditions of the Donetsk basin. AVO-modeling was carried out using acoustic logs from two productive and one unproductive wells. The results of modeling achieved a good match to theoretical views on the subject. This justifies high potentialities of the approach. Theory, algorithms and computer programs for subtracting surface waves using the singular decomposion were perfected. The effectiveness of the method was demonstrated with seismic datasets fromthe Eastern end Pridneprovska Geophysical Prospectiny Expeditions. A field of application is geological prospecting.
