The study objects - organ and tissue samples obtained from 4 classes of terrestrial vertebrates (amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals). The purpose of investigation - ascertaining of cytological mechanisms of adaptive processes, their specifics and potential possibilities in supporting and blood-forming tissues under conditions of hypokinesia, microgravity, and antropogenic contaminations. Research methods: the complex of methods was used, and namely: histology, cytochemistry, electron microscopy, radioautography, tissue culture, morphometric analysis, as well as digital technologies. New scientific data have been obtained about cytological peculiarities of development of epiphyseal cartilages and cortical bone in vertebrate representatives with different supporting loading on the skeleton. In the experiments with model hypokinesia the study was made of osteogenic cell potencies under in vitro conditions;the morphofunctional characteristics of osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes was done; the peculiarities of adaptive processes in long bones with a deficit of mechanical loading were analysed, as well as the biochemical changes occurring in the bone matrix structure were studied. The study was made of the ultrastructural peculiarities of the interaction of the bone marrow stromal and blood-forming cells of the mammal representatives, including also hypokinesia conditions. New data have been obtained about the influence of antropogenic contaminating factors upon the structure and cell composition in blood-forming organs of amphibians and reptiles. The results of scientific research work are of a fundamental value, and can also be applied in medicine for studying the peculiarities of osteoporosis development and in ecolody for evaluating the vital activity of biocenoses. These results are also recommended to be included to the educational programs and text-books in histology and zoology.
